Eikum Hotel has an abundance of spectacular activities and attractions right on its doorstep and is a perfect base for numerous excursions. The Jostedalsbreen glacier, the Sognefjellet mountain pass, Urnes Stave Church and the Sognefjord are all in the immediate vicinity.

The village of Hafslo is a perfect starting point for walks. There are numerous long and short rambling routes starting right outside the hotel. Hafslo is an eldorado for skiing enthusiasts during the winter season, with Sogn Skisenter only 2 km away. Guests can ski all the way back to the hotel from the ski centre. The local drinking water in Hafslo was named the best in the country in 2016.


Eikum Hotel has been known for its great home cooking for almost a hundred years, the acclaimed “Heavenly Pudding” being its speciality.

Brita, great grandmother to the current owner Ståle, started the tradition of good, home-made food back in 1919, a tradition that has been maintained until the present day, almost a century later. Ståle’s grandmother Ella and his mother Aud have continued Brita’s cookery traditions, and the inviting smell of home-cooked meatballs has been drifting through the hotel year after year for four generations. Along with the above-mentioned “Heavenly Pudding”, traditional fare such as roast pork, meatballs, roast beef, gravy, home-made cream cakes and Queen Maud pudding have been the mainstay of Eikum Hotel ever since its tender beginnings in 1919.

Our dining hall can seat up to 240 guests, and we host both small and large events. The current hosts have more than 40 years’ experience of organising parties and functions.

A private function room can be provided, and the Brita-Stova room is available for smaller events.

We serve a three-course menu every evening during summer from 19.00, using seasonal local produce. Our kitchen staff are flexible and more than happy to fulfil requests for dishes other than the menu of the day.

Courses & conferences

Eikum is a quiet and discreet venue in which to hold meetings, courses and conferences. We have a private garden where delegates can relax and recharge in between meetings, far away from the daily grind.

We are happy to help organise activities locally, be it on our private beach about 1 km from the hotel, glacier trips on the Jostedalsbreen glacier, boat trips on the Sognefjord, walks with or without a guide, or other activities by arrangement.

In winter we can help organise skiing trips with or without a guide. From Sogn Skisenter in Heggmyrane guests can ski all the way back to the front door of Eikum Hotel. The hotel garden is perfect for a bit of après-ski following a day on the slopes.

Our conference rooms have a capacity of 60 and 100 people respectively, and we offer standard technical equipment as part of the hire fee. 

Special occasions..

If you want a special celebration, we host from 5 to 240 persons for dining. Eikum Hotel has more than 40 years of experience, arranging banquets for special occasions .
